- Principal Uses
Alcotac CB11 aids briquetting/agglomeration processes and gives the following benefits in agglomerate quality:
- Increased green strength
- Increased dry strength
- Imparts good weathering characteristics
Alcotac CB11 generates good dry strengths when the agglomerate is allowed to cure at ambient temperature, i. e. it is not necessary to thermally cure to achieve high strengths.
Dose levels are dependent upon application and substrate, but normally lie within the range 0.1 – 1.0 % w/w of product as supplied.
- Recommended Applications
- Alcotac CB11 is added as supplied and good mixing with the substrate is essential prior to agglomeration.
- Whilst good green strengths are anticipated, in order to develop optimum dry strengths and weathering characteristics, curing for 24 hours or longer at ambient temperature is recommended. It is also possible to thermally cure at temperatures of up to 180 °C without significant impairment of dry strength development.
- If final strengths are not sufficient, the binder is compatible with a variety of other binder systems on the market as resin and emulsion systems.
