This product is a fundamentally new proprietary liquid scale inhibitor that prevents the formation of calcium carbonate and other calcium-based scales in a wide variety of process conditions at very low dosage rates. Additionally, it has been formulated with organic antifreeze agents that prevent the freezing of the product and its active ingredients for use in harsh northern winter conditions.

IPAC 1249A has been formulated with organic antifreeze agents that prevent the freezing of the product and its active ingredients for use in harsh northern winter conditions, so it can be stored outdoors and even used at sub-zero temperatures down to -20C. The antifreeze agents do not interfere with flotation or collection or other process chemistry and have been cleared for use in several mining processes. Added on a continuous basis to process systems prior to scale formation, IPAC 1249A prevents the growth of scale through the mechanisms of crystal modification and threshold inhibition. The concentration at which formation of precipitates and crystals is increased significantly and scaling components will not form crystals, but amorphous, soft micro-particulates, which do not interfere with the processes and will wash through the process. Benefits provided include better heat exchange capacity, longer cycle time between cleaning, reduction of or elimination of acid washes, production run-time improvements, and lower wear due to less mechanical cleanings. Some operations experience several years between cleanings.

    Directions For Use:
IPAC 1249A should be applied as-is via positive displacement pump to an area of good mixing, such as prior to a pump or via an injection quill upstream of the scale formation areas in order to assure dispersion throughout the waters. Dosage rate ranges from 3 ppm to 10 ppm dependent upon scale conditions and system implications, which should be assessed by a DuBois Chemicals Representative.
