- As an additive for the preparation of water-based rust preventives.
- As a rust inhibitor for mineral and soluble metal working oils.
- As a general-purpose corrosion inhibitor for use in slushing oils, preservative lubricants etc.
Effectiveness in Soluble Cutting Oils: In general 0,5 - 3% AOS 5200 in the soluble oil provides sufficient protection.

Preparation of emulsion base:
- 20 - 30 % AOS 5200
- 65 - 75 % oil (ISO VG 22 or 46)
- 5% Coupling agent (Diethylene Glycol Monobutyl Ether or Ethylene Glycol Monobutyl Ether)
Blending procedure: Prior to blending elevated temperatures should be avoided. Temperatures above 80°C for 10 hours and more may cause a decrease in effectiveness. Hot AOS 5200 is added to oil, or oil to AOS 5200. The order of addition is not critical but it is important to heat the blend to 70 - 80°C with good agitation. Solutions prepared at lower temperatures may show some separation of additive on storage. To blend in the coupling agent, above mixture should be cooled to room temperature (volatility of coupling agent).
Storage: AOS 5200 can be stored indoors up to 40°C in sealed original package for a minimum of 24 months.
