SILICA GEL GRADE 59

This product is a buffer gel for protecting adsorbent beds, a wide-pore, granular form of amorphous synthetic silica gel. It exhibits a high water capacity under conditions of high relative humidity and, in particular, when water is present in the liquid phase. It also has a high capacity for liquid hydrocarbons and other organic liquids. When wet, it maintains its mechanical strength and integrity. For this reason, this product is used as a buffer layer in molecular sieve and silica gel beds that may be subject to occasional liquid carryover.

    Storage & Handling

    Storage Information

GRADE 59 Buffer Gel for Protecting Adsorbent Beds must be stored in a dry location to prevent pre-adsorption of water. Opened packages should be re-sealed to prevent contamination of the product. Rotate stock to first use oldest material whenever possible. Additional information can be found in our Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS).Storage in a dry warehouse is recommended.

    Product Shelf-life

The material should be used within 24 months from the date of production. Provided the storage recommendations are followed, silica stored beyond the recommended shelf
life are typically fit for use. However, it is advised that a quality control test be performed on the properties relevant to the application.
