- Recommended Applications
- The mould should be clean and dry before use.
- If necessary, clean the mould using an abrasive (for example, sand, metal or dry-ice shot-blasting).
- When possible, this should be followed by wiping the mould with a solvent based cleaner, such as Marbocote Mould Cleaner.
- Although this can be applied over existing semi- permanent release agents, best performance is obtained by removing all traces of prior products.
- Mould cleaning and release agent application should be performed in a well-ventilated area.
- It can be applied using any spray equipment capable of producing fine atomisation.
- Best results will be obtained by using a standard spray gun fitted with a fluid nozzle of 0.5 or 0.8mm, with a fluid pressure of 1 to 0.5 Bar (the lower pressure with the larger fluid nozzle) and using an air pressure of approximately 3 Bars.
- An airless spray gun may also be used but care must be taken to avoid over-application.
- It can be applied at any mould temperature between 20 and 170°C.
- Apply two thin uniform coats at 90 degrees to each other.
- For new moulds, an additional coat is recommended. Do not over- apply.
- Spray the product directly onto the preheated mould surface from a distance of 100 - 200mm.
- For difficult to reach areas, use a spray gun extension or lance.
- Production can commence immediately after the final coat.
- Reapplication
- When release becomes hesitant, reapply one coat of this in the same manner as described above.
- Typically, this needs to be reapplied after each release; especially when used in diluted form.
