    Application Information

Optiblanc® PL is recommended for the incorporation in:

    • Clear coats and overprint varnishes
    • Paints (mainly white and light color)
    • Primer and topcoats • Printing and packaging inks.
    • Formulations with fluorescent pigments.

According to the final application Optiblanc® PL can be used as a marker or a masking agent, or to increase ink deep tone. Optiblanc® PL offers the following advantages:

    • Intensify the brilliance of color and the degree of whiteness.
    • Possibility to obtain a reduction in pigment quantities normally used and obtain the same degree of whitening.

    Property Information

Optiblanc® PL is an optical brightener belonging to the class of compounds known as bis benzoxazoles. Because of its unique features it can be used in a wide range of formulations for the coatings industry. Optiblanc® PL has the following general features:

    • Excellent whitening yield. It may be used to compensate the yellow cast of several binder substrate, even if it is added in small amount. The finished article is whiter, brighter and brilliant with a marked improvement in tone.
    • Excellent thermal and chemical stability.
    • Optical brighteners react with and exhibit some sensitivity to ultraviolet radiation. Lightfastness is subjected to the substrate composition. It is therefore advisable to preliminary test specific formulations.
