The product is an Engineered BioFluid (EBF™) designed for chelating and maintaining reduced iron levels in contaminated reservoir formation waters. It reacts with dissolved ferrous iron present in formation, flowback, and produced waters, preventing the precipitation of ferric iron phases in the wellbore. Additionally, it keeps the iron in solution at the molecular level, facilitating its flushing from the reservoir without compromising reservoir permeability. This additive is a neat iron-control solution compatible with a wide pH range and the complete range of Integrity Bio-Chem completion fluid additives. It enables operators and pumping service companies to target specific zones enriched in dissolved iron for effective control.

IRONFIX-W™ is a cost effective dual functioning EBF™ for iron control in the oilfield. IRONFIX-W™ is an iron chelator and buffering solution for complex and variable waters intersected during drilling and completion. The unique biopolymer chelation agent is also formulated to form complexes with metals, including alkali metal cations. This dual functioning engineered chemistry maintains the reduced iron content and enhances the chelation efficiency of the unique biopolymer. IRONFIX-W™ pre-empts the oxidation of dissolved ferrous iron due to sudden changes in dissolved oxygen content and pH of the completion fluids. The chelates that are readily flowable can be swept from the well in the flow back. IRONFIX-W™ inhibits ferric iron precipitation in the nanoporous rock network and on perforated casings. The product is formulated to perform compatibly with Integrity Bio-Chem EBF™ fluid additives. The recommended usage rate is 1.0 gallons per 1000 (GPT) per 100 mg/L of dissolved iron in the water.
