    • Intumescent coatings: FR CROS® 584 is used in surface coatings such as intumescent paints and mastics for the passive fire protection of structural steel and wood.
    • The insolubility in organic solvents and the very low solubility in water allows the formulation of stable coatings.
    • Approximately 20-25 % FR CROS® 584, based on total weight of the liquid paint, is used in formulations of intumescent paints.
