    • Carnauba Wax is obtained from the leaves of a species of palm known as Copernica Cerifera , which grows normally in the dry region of Ceara , northeastern Brazil.
    • This wax family has a chemical composition based on esters (84-85%), alcohol and resins (6-9%), free acids (3.0-3.5%) and hydrocarbon (1.5-3.0%).
    • Carnauba Wax is well known for its shine properties .
    • It combines hardness and wear resistance and it is compatible with many types of waxes .
    • Depending on the tree age and on the portion of the leaf wherefrom wax is extracted , four different types of Carnauba Wax can be produced .

    Type I Carnauba Wax is compatible with a wide variety of waxes , and thus it can be blended with 

    • All vegetable and animal waxes – Mineral waxes such as montan wax, paraffin and microcrystalline.
    • Fatty acids and hydrogenated waxes.
    • Synthetic waxes such as polyethylene , oxidized polyethylene, polypropylene, esters - Homopolymers such as low density polyethylene.
    • Natural resins such as tar and shellac.
